MarketingPro Engineering

“Find your clients and win the battle for their money”

MarketingPro Engineering (MPE) is a research methodology which allows you to do a customer market segmentation in order to find a target market for your products and to position your offer in the minds of prospect consumers from the target markets.

The research is carried out in three stages:

1. Market segmentation

Market segmentation is the subdividing of a market into distinct subsets of customers who perceive a certain product in similar way. Market segmentation is done by means of a special software through cluster, discriminant and factor analysis of the collected primary and available secondary data. The results are easy to understand and facilitate decision-making during the next stages of the MPE process.

Primary Characteristics of Segments

- Bases—characteristics that tell us why segments differ (eg, needs, preferences, decision processes).
- Descriptors—characteristics that help us find and reach segments.

Business market   Consumer markets
Industry   Age/Income
Size   Education
Location   Profession
Organizational
structure
  Life styles
    Media habits

2. Targeting

During this stage the identified market segments are analyzed in depth. The aim is to profile the segments and to identify the needs, wants and wishes of consumers in each segment.

3. Differentiation, positioning and mapping

- Differentiation (What you do to an offering): Creating tangible or intangible differences on one or more attributes between a focal offering and its main competitors.

- Positioning (What you do to the minds of customers): A set of strategies a firm develops to differentiate its offering in the minds of its target customers. Successful positioning will result in the offering occupying a distinct, important, and sustainable position in the minds of the target customers.

- Mapping: Techniques that enable managers to develop differentiation and positioning strategies by helping them to visualize the competitive structure of their markets as perceived by their customers. The maps are derived from data of customer perceptions of existing products (and new concepts) along various attributes, perceptions of similarities between brands, preferences for the products, or measures of behavioral response of customers toward the products.

The Metal

To produce 1 kilogram of metal 12 kilograms of materials are used (iron ore, explosives, natural gas, anthracite, limestone, coke, etc.), 91 kg of water and 1,9 kg air.
The iron is extracted from iron ore, most often from hematite. During its extraction from the ore there is 3,5 – 4,5% carbon which makes it hard but fragile. When the level of carbon is below 2% the steel is produced. That is more flexible as material. This happens when the iron is melted and air is put in it. To produce 1 kg of steel less primary materials are used – 8, 9 kg, water – 59 kg and air – 530 gr.

About 55% from the iron and the steel that we use today are recycled. To produce recycled steel the used quantities of water and air are
